With the outbreak of the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19), four tech startup teams supported by IAPS (Center of Industry Accelerator and Patent Strategy, NCTU) developed epidemic prevention technologies to jointly guard people’s health.
‘Indoor Positioning System’ prevents those in isolation from going out
Honeywld’s ‘Going-out Alert & Evasion Prevention Monitoring System’ proactively notifies epidemic prevention agencies if those in isolation leave the area with set signal strength or if signals are interrupted, and thus epidemic prevention agencies can contact them as soon as possible. ‘Emergency Call Button’ is provided for those in isolation to ask for help. Besides, epidemic prevention agencies would also be notified if movements are not detected for long periods in those in isolation.
Group Realtime Telehealth Care Platform — AI-assisted screening can be expected to reduce hospital-acquired infection risk
IAPS Startup Teams Help Fight Epidemics — Strengthen Epidemic Prevention Momentum with Technologies
With ‘Group realtime telehealth care platform (GRTCP)’ developed by Singular Wings Medical Co., Ltd., users just need to wear monitoring devices and the change of their heart rhythms and breaths can be monitored via the App, and related units will be notified if any abnormality is detected by the system. The system is also equipped with positioning & tracking functions to record and track users’ movements to determine the zone for epidemic prevention isolation.
Smart Mask Vending Machine reduces the burden on pharmacies
A Smart Mask Vending Machine has been developed through the collaboration between BiiLabs and Yallvend Co. Ltd. This is the first ‘Non-surgical Mask Vending Machine’ which combines digital identification technologies and Mask Map. People can buy masks in an easy way by scanning the QRcode with phones to access the website and then scanning ID Card to complete the verification process.
Epidemic-prevention creates demand for alternative property management — ‘Zero Contact Service’ catches up with this trend
JGB Property has established an all-round cloud management platform for landlords, which incorporates the use of IoT devices (online cameras, smart locks) to achieve ‘zero contact’ property management and has changed the ‘viewing & signing contract’ model applied in traditional rental & leasing market, substituting for the current property management system to reduce the infection risk of contact between property management service providers and tenants.
